"The switch was worn day and night for close to a month. I remember after leaving the place where it was done I had to overtake some people on the path. I knew they would see it, so that was a big moment, then after that I relaxed a little. I went into a pub once and ordered a drink. It felt like the music and pool balls came to a stop for a second or so. Then started up again."

The Byzantine emperor Constantine IX officially banned women from Mt. Athos in 1045, but he didn’t stop there. He also prohibited female animals and children, as well as eunuchs.

In a recent article entitled LET THERE BE LIGHT, we briefly explored not only the metaphysical and mythological influences of light, but also how human beings interact with this energy on a daily basis and its importance in the grand scheme of our ecosystem. Since this topic is worthy of a greater examination it seemed necessary to draw focus upon that spectacular source of light from within our own solar system, and reiterate its monumental impact in the realms of planetary evolution as well as religious ideology. As we’ve only generally recognized for a very short time, or accepted on a widespread scale, the fact that we’re not living in a geocentric universe, we begin to understand how misunderstood the common icons and totems of our everyday lives actually are.

The "Cardiff Giant"

Workers were digging a well in New York in 1869 when they made a sensational discovery: a 10-foot man made of stone.

Was it an ancient statue? A huge petrified human? The truth turned out to be more mundane: The "Cardiff Giant" had been carved out of gypsum and deliberately buried by a New York tobacconist named George Hull. He turned a good profit: His $2,600 investment sold for $37,500 when it was "discovered."

The continuing hysteria drove profits higher, and P.T. Barnum offered $60,000 to lease it for three months. Rebuffed, he built his own plaster replica and decried the original as a fake, leading exhibitor David Hannum to grumble, "There's a sucker born every minute" — a remark later misattributed to Barnum himself.

Eventually the whole thing blew over; by 1870 both giants had been revealed as fake. But the old gypsum carving still makes a good show — it's on display today in a Cooperstown, N.Y., museum.

Unlike a great many researchers these days it seems, I’m not nor have I ever been associated with the fraternity of Freemasonry. I’ve never claimed to be, nor have I ever had to deny it (caught between lies) after being confronted on a talk show. I don’t have Texas Masonic ties and oil business dealings, secret relations with government “whistle-blowers”, corporate connections, nor am I a former BBC sports announcer who once proclaimed himself to be the Son of God on national television. Never have I sensationally claimed myself to be an authority figure from a “long tradition of mountain shamans”, I’m not a “prophet” who predicted the events of 911, nor has a Reptilian Shape-shifter from Planet X granted me some secret message that I must reveal to the world before the 2012 apocalypse.

The tree is an iconic image of heraldry and symbolic significance in various cultures throughout the world. It represents many things, including the Great Mother in her nourishing, sheltering form, as well as a sacred spot of attainment and spiritual enlightenment. Deeply rooted into the evolutionary psychology of our race as well as earth’s powers, it draws water from the soil and stretches up to the heavens and eternity, acting as a world axis. In occult or Gnostic circles, it is seen as being emblematic of the “axis mundi”, the world pillar, and the center of the earth itself. It is closely linked to the symbolism of the pillar and the mountain, as well as connotations of a phallic representation, best signified by the ancient usage of obelisks for ritual and ceremonial purposes. It serves as an intermediary icon of the mysterious dimensions between the realm of gods and men. A common Shamanic concept has the “seeker” or “healer” using the world tree in order to transverse the physical realm and bring back secrets from hidden dimensions.
